Yoso‘s coconut yogurt is a true dairy-free treat! Made from pure whole organic coconuts, this gluten free dessert is good on it’s own or with any granola or fruit. I’m not sure if it was made to be dessert or a breakfast food, but it’s really sweet (but sweetened with agave) and has fantastic flavour. It has a smooth and creamy texture with a little hint of coconut amongst the vanilla. My mom and sister like to eat it with Qia chia cereal and lots of fresh or frozen berries. It happens to also be one of my sister’s favourite things to take to school in her lunch! My favourite way to enjoy it is topped with Love Crunch or GoRaw apple cinnamon granola – I’m not big into berries except for wild ontario blueberries in season. It comes in 2 flavours: Chocolate and Vanilla. I prefer the vanilla because I can just add my own chocolate flavour by adding Chocosol Chocolate or Navita’s Natural Raw Cacao or Cacao Nibs to it instead of buying the chocolate yogurt – it’s a blank canvas of yogurt so try and get creative with your favourite flavours. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Francis, at my local CSA as well as at the Veg Food Fair this past September. It’s always nice to find out that a product you love is made by a local company who uses organic ingredients. We drive all the way to the Big Carrot to buy it because it’s not available widely yet and it’s worth the drive. Unlike so many other dairy-free yogurts, Yoso coconut yogurt is soy-free and nut-free!
