The Harbord Room is on Harbord Street if you didn’t guess it. It is very easy to miss because it has a sign that’s easy to miss. We got to sit at the bar and I got to watch the bartender make cocktails, drinks, chill glasses and pour beer and wine. The bartender’s name was Dave and he was also our server. The service at the Harbord Room was exceptional. The menu had a great selection and had small, medium and large plates and even has a dessert section.
The food at the Harbord Room is actually better than at most restaurants in Toronto! They have a large variety of dishes and even know where all of their food comes from, since they use local and organic ingredients. They have an exceptional burger and even made their own ketchup in house. You can even see the chefs hard at work in the kitchen! They have the BEST. SOUP. EVER! It was chesnut and chorizo with feta cheese and pumpkin seeds and I asked my parents if I could have another bowl for dessert (but I didn’t get to). The salad we had had amazing smoked cheddar, thin onions, chickpea fritters and I even liked the red peppers, and I don’t normally eat red peppers! The dressing was really good too, it looked and tasted like it had Kozlik’s triple crunch mustard but they said it was from some other place like Gordon Foods. I didn’t like the beets on my mom’s plate, but I really like her salmon that tasted smoked. I really liked my Dad’s pickerel too. They made a special dessert for us, my mommy doesn’t normally let me have espresso things, but this pot de creme tasted like cappucino ice cream, we all really liked it!
The Harbord Room has a booth, high tables and a bar and regular tables. It has a fireplace filled with candles and there was colourful art on the walls. There’s even a separate entrance for the chefs to get to the smokehouse (Dave told us that). Be sure to make reservations, it gets really busy and there was a big lineup when we left.

P.S. Cory – thanks for the book, and for being really nice and we’ll come back soon.
