I’ve never conducted a taste taste like this before, but while at the CHFA Show in Toronto, I got the idea to do one for Way Better Chips. They have 5 different varieties of their chips, and I couldn’t decide which one I liked the most. Well actually, their best flavour is their Sweet Chili ones, but the other 4 are all close seconds.
We shop as a family and have rules for what goes into our cart. Any local and organic produce is always good, and lots of other fruits and vegetables that are organic but not local, depending on what’s in season is allowed too. We never buy products from Mexico (except for organic avocados when they aren’t available from California) and never from China, at all. When it comes to packaged foods, we are very discerning. It has to be nut-free, since my sister is allergic, then we look for organic, non-gmo, vegan, gluten-free, no msg, no ingredients we don’t understand or have no idea what they even are. As you can imagine, there’s not that many brands of packaged food that we buy and like to eat. So, imagine my happiness, when I first saw Way Better sitting on the shelves at The Big Carrot! I soon read through their incredibly short ingredient list and knew we were going to try them. They never actually made it into the cart, because we ate them all before we got to the cashier! They were absolutely stupendous! I made sure to get a few more bags to take home, they were such a success. It’s not exactly a fresh vegetable, but as far as chips go, they are healthy!
I walked away from the CHFA with one of each flavour of their bags of chips, and told them that I would report back with my findings. As you will see in the pictures, I set 3 chips of each flavour int0 a glass bowl and put a sample letter next to each. The people who did the test were me, my sister and my brother. We are all chip connoisseurs, our other favourite brands are Late July and Neal Brothers. With eyes closed, we each sampled the chips. The overall results showed that Simply Sweet Potato was the most preferred, and Sweet Chili came as a close second. None were given a poor review, they were all great!
I encourage you all to get some of these chips, sit down with some homemade hummus and then let me know what you think. Thank you all for reading this post, and I say, Way Better is WAY better!
