Snazzy Label!

Can you believe that it’s been 6 months since Feel Good Guru opened? When I was there last week, Moira told me that I was the first blogger to review them, but I hadn’t tried all of their food because when I was there the first days they opened they only had kale chips and Bliss Balls. You can read that review here.

I settled on ordering the Eco Taco, which is absolutely enormous and instead of your typical taco shell, they serve it in a big red cabbage leaf. It’s filled with various shredded veggies and walnut and sunflower meat plus lots of pico de gallo and an avocado cashew cream sauce. Although it was delicious, I tried my father’s Bangkok Doc, and immediately swapped meals with him. I loved the kelp and zucchini noodles tossed in their creamy and flavourful almond sauce. It’s a huge portion, and even with my big appetite, it was still too much, but it came in a cardboard box that allowed me to take it home for leftovers! My mother had her favourite sandwich of cashew cheese and veggies on yam bread, and she let me steal much of her avocado from inside the sandwich – I absolutely LOVE avocado. Thanks Mom. We didn’t have juices this time, but I strongly suggest you try one of their fresh drinks. Keep in mind, if you aren’t used to drinking green juices, they might look really gross, but they are delicious and really, really good for you.

The best part of my visit to Feel Good Guru was BY FAR the cinnamon roll. Actually, I want one of those RIGHT now!! It was dense, and had a perfect amount of cinnamon and sweetness and the icing on top was absolutely perfect. My parents and I shared one, but next time I’m getting my own.

Going to this mostly take-out restaurant is one of the easiest ways to support local organic food and your health. It’s fun to sit on the bar stools and look out the window onto Queen Street and people watch all the goings-on at Trinity Bellwoods Park.

Keep in mind that if you have nut allergies, you should not go to Feel Good Guru, but if you don’t have allergies, you should get there right away!
