Although Tiffinday is at the Brickworks Market every other week, I had not tried it before today. It’s difficult, because there’s always so much to eat and I adore eating crepes from Clements Crepes, Corn Tortillas from Chocosol with Mad Mexican dips, LPK Paninis, and dumplings from My Little Dumplings. Hopefully you are all inspired to go to the market for breakfast or lunch now!

This morning, Seema was serving Veggie Samosas, Timpa Wheels and Chickpea Curry. My sister tried a samosa with a tamarind and date dipping sauce and I loved it, so we got a plate of them and Timpa Wheels to share. Although I highly recommend the samosas stuffed with mixed veggies, if you don’t like spicy, careful, they have a kick!! The Timpa Wheels were amazing. They are made with swiss chard and chickpea and were topped with a squeeze of lemon juice – the flavours were perfectly balanced and tasted amazing. The neat thing that I just learned about Tiffinday going to their website is that they deliver completely litterless meals daily in Toronto – right to your door! Their menu is completely vegan and is delivered in stainless steel tiffin containers. Very cool.
My sister washed down the spicy samosas with a Lemon Echinacea Kombucha from Pyramid Farm and Ferments, also at the market. My mom loves their kimchi and krauts. I tried the dill pickled radish one this morning and I think it’s a very acquired taste, and it’s just “OK” for me at this point.
We also got lots of fresh produce from Sosnicki Organics including Jessie’s famous vegan cabbage rolls, which I can’t wait to try this year. And of course many staples like Chocosol Chocolate (today we got Jaguar chocolate, which is very rare and very yummy), Kozlik’s Mustard, Vicki’s Veggies, Sheep’s Milk yogurt from Best Baa Dairy (which, coincidentally and ironically, doesn’t only make and sell sheep milk exclusively), Sheep’s milk cheeses from Dave Smythe and Monforte Dairy, Microgreens and Sprouts from Kind Organics, Olive Oil from Angelo, and much else. And today, I also tried something new which you MUST try if you love honey and ginger! Meredith’s Ginger Syrup is incredible and she isn’t always there selling but told me that they always have it at the market store and at the Summerhill Market.
Yes, I usually skip lunch on Saturdays after spending the morning at Brickworks!
