Live on Chocolate is Toronto’s organic, fair trade chocolate, and dessert company – and it’s absolutely awesmazing. Besides special orders, directly with Stacey, the super nice, bike-riding owner and creator of all of the desserts, you can find her chocolates, truffles and power puddings at many of my favourite spots in Toronto, including The Big Carrot, The Beet Organic Cafe and Qi.
I need to focus on her Power Puddings, these taste like a treat, but they are so healthy that you can eat them for breakfast! Even though it’s a store bought, packaged snack, it’s all the best raw, organic, vegan ingredients in a compostable cup. She features a Raspberry and a Chocolate flavour. Every spoonful of her Chocolate Power Pudding is a flavour explosion on my tongue. And, since I say “part of taste is feeling good about what you eat”, this fits that perfectly, because the ingredients are the best, and the final tasty treat is to die for! Stacey has even travelled to see where her Cacao is grown organically and sustainably. Each power pudding is topped with a handmade granola – made with ingredients like lentils, flax, quinoa, broccoli and vanilla bean on the chocolate, or coconut, almonds, golden berries, goji berries and vanilla bean on the raspberry one. Rest assured, whether you know these ingredients or not, and question if they are actually good, they are good. Period.
She has some hemp based ones that will be nut-free (hurray!), and I was lucky enough to try a Green Power Pudding that was avocado, lime and spinach based with a coconut and sprouted broccoli topping. I know it sounds weird, or even revolting, but it’s really, really, good, and good for you!
