We Day is an educational event and the movement of our time—a movement of young people leading local and global change and I was lucky enough to attend today in Toronto. Since I’m all about creating change, I was so excited to be able to go, wearing my Me To We Style shirt with my quote on it, and listen to the inspirational speakers and crazy music. Although the day was really fun, and I know that I’m fortunate to have been there, the food situation was quite a disappointment. Now, let me make it clear that i was not expecting them to have all organic food, plated beautifully, but seeing mass amounts of bottled water being consumed by kids and adults screaming about making change was totally ironic. Me To We even sells a glass water bottle, and talk about using them instead of plastic! The food served by the Air Canada Centre’s caterers are the same people who serve hot dogs, pizza, and such to sports fans. It would be great if the Kielburgers could make cleaner food choices at the event, or have people bring their own litterless lunches, and close down the candy and junk concessions for the day. That would be really cool change!! If you ever go to an event like this, remember to bring your own lunch! Overall, We Day was awesmazing, it was just the food that could be improved!
