Apiecalypse Pizza & Snack Bar

Good news in Toronto for those that love pizza, do not eat dairy, are vegan, or even just celebrating Meatless Monday – Apiecalypse is here! I visited their new little spot at the corner of Bloor and Grace, just across from Christie Pits Park on the opening weekend, and will definitely go back.

Although Apiecalypse is not fine dining or the healthiest eating by any means, they do serve organic salads along with their vegan cupcakes and other goodies, soft serve ice cream, and obviously, lots of pizza. It’s fun, fast food! You can order by the slice, or by the pie. They have a wide range of pizzas with loads of vegetables, and also many with their (not)chicken. Please beware if you have a nut allergy, they do use nuts in their kitchen.

I ordered two slices, since their entire menu wasn’t available yet, and would have taken them to the park to enjoy, except for the fact that it was pouring rain, and all of the inside seats were taken. Nonetheless, undeterred, I enjoyed every bite sitting in our parked car! I tried the BBQ Buffalobotomy (featuring buffalo-sauced (not)chicken) and a slice of Slayer, a margherita with a hot-sauce pentagram, both of which I enjoyed quite a bit. The crust is puffy, thick, light and crispy at the same time, and not greasy at all on the bottom. They heated the slice up in their pizza oven perfectly – their crust is the perfect thickness and consistency that it retained its heat until my final bites. It’s not gluten-free, but they are apparently working on one, which will be fantastic!

It would be great if they had some healthier options to drink (not conventional sugary ones in cans), but I bet they will get there, because they seemed determined to have fun, serving good, fun, and plant-based food, which is something we all need more of!

Organic. Vegan. Tasty. (as it says on their sign)

Go try something new!

The White Walker – One of Apiecalypse’s many different pizza creations! This one includes creamy garlic sauce, herbed (not) chicken, Daiya cheese, and organic arugula! I didn’t try this one, but will next time.

They also have organic salads for a non-pizza, gluten-free, healthier menu item!

I thought this poster was funny and I hope you do too!

Waiting in line to try their pizza – it was PACKED for the grand opening!

The storefront is easily recognizable at Bloor and Grace/Christie with Apiecalypse’s signature raccoon logo!

Wish it was coconut milk, but they have a soy-based vegan soft-serve with housemade toppings. I am curious about the blue syrup that reads “what does blue taste like?” – I hope it is from blueberries!?

Enjoying the Buffalobotomy pizza – it was #awesmazing!
