Although many people know about Sweets From The Earth‘s awesmazing vegan baked goods that you can buy in stores, a lesser-known fact is that they make larger custom cakes in a more traditional circular style, unlike their packaged cakes that come in boxes at most health food stores across Canada and even some large chain supermarkets.
This past weekend, we were fortunate enough to celebrate twice with their nut-free, dairy-free, gmo-free cakes – the Toronto company has two bakeries that are vegan, but one is gluten-free and the other is nut-free. We always get from the nut-free bakery with confidence since my sister is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. One cake was for my great-grandfather’s 103rd birthday that is coming up; it was delicious layers of vanilla cake with vanilla bean icing. My grandfather is a huge fan of Crown Royal, and Sweets from the Earth was able to write in a similar font and put their logo, a crown, on too. My entire family, most of whom do not eat this kind of food, loved the cake, and most importantly, my great-grandfather devoured his slice! The other cake was for our going-to-camp dinner with family friends. Between the 6 kids in our two families, we have 3 nut and peanut allergies, one fish allergy and one sesame allergy, so Sweets From The Earth is our go-to to keep everyone safe and satiated! We loved their chocolate fudge layer cake with the inscription “We Will Miss You! (sometimes)” on it – the cake was from our parents and also gave us all a good laugh before we enjoyed huge pieces!
Sweets From The Earth’s custom cakes are great for birthdays, holidays, and times when you just feel like eating cake. Their cakes and cupcakes are also perfect for school snacks since they are labeled as nut-free and also, since they are vegan, are dairy and egg free – and they don’t use refined and processed sugars, or any toxic colours and preservatives!
Fun fact: Eating cake will double your happiness at any given time. Another fun fact: I like to just make up facts.
Contact Sweets from the Earth directly if you want something written on a big cake, otherwise just grab their products at your nearest store! Happy cake-ing and celebrating!
