Fala Bar in Los Angeles!

Fala Bar upholds their slogan “Delicious food that’s healthy for you and the environment” at their small good food space in Venice Beach. Although the founders are not vegan, the restaurant is, because they believe that everyone can benefit from a diet of meat-free meals. How can you not respect that?

When I walked into Fala Bar (right after I had eaten a full meal at the Butcher’s Daughter across the street – review on that coming soon!), it didn’t take long for me to decide what to order from their menu, even though I could have happily eaten every single item on the menu! I normally would eat at one restaurant at a time to be able to sample more than one thing, but we were only on Abbott Kinney for a few hours after landing at LAX, and I had to make the most of my time there!

I ordered the Spicy Falafel in a classic Fala Sandwich. Ordering is done over the counter, and looks like fast food, which it is, but it’s also made fresh, so you wait a few minutes, which is entirely worth every second. I noticed you could add avocado to every dish as well, always a good sign! A large warm pita not only stuffed with the falafel balls, but packed with Israeli salad, shredded cabbage, lots of tahini and hummus was given to me, and I knew I was going to be happy. Despite having just eaten a full meal, I devoured the pita – it was awesmazing paired with their housemade hot sauce! As someone who has been fortunate enough to enjoy falafel and pita and hummus all over Israel, I can say that this meal holds up and then some! I love that Fala Bar has a commitment to using all organic ingredients, and there are signs promoting healthy tidbit and non-gmo and “no fake sh*t” all over the walls.

If you notice on the image of the menu below, Fala Bar is Organic, Vegan, Kosher, Dairy-free, Non-GMO, Nut-free, Soy-free, plus can happily accommodate gluten-free! So amazing!

If you are lucky enough to be near one of Fala Bar’s locations, GO! I will be dreaming of another trip to LA to enjoy, or maybe I should start working on having them open up in Toronto! We need more of this kind of good fast food here – and everywhere!

A full menu – something for everyone!
