Lemon Lily Tea

Lemon Lily Tea is a company based in Toronto that makes over 200 different varieties of certified organic loose leaf teas. In addition to be served and sold all around the city (over 150 retailers in Canada!), they have a small cafe and shop in Yorkville (184 Davenport Road) – they will also ship online orders anywhere in the world!

I first met Lemon Lily Tea at the Patagonia market in fall 2015, where my little brother immediately fell in love with their Canadian Maple tea! My sister and I loved their teas as well (though not quite as enthusiastically – if you have met my little brother, you’ll understand! :] ). The owner of Lemon Lily, Jason, told us about their little cafe, and naturally, I wanted to go and check it out, and support Jason, as he has always been super-nice and supported and encouraged me.

One afternoon, my mom, sister, and I were in the area when my sister suggested that we drop in for a drink. Unfortunately, Jason was away, but the three of us enjoyed hot drinks and bought a few awesmazing loose-leaf teas.

I ordered the Turmeric Latte, since I am a huge fan of the ingredient, and it was the perfect way to warm up on that chilly day. My sister ordered a fruity tea which she loved, and we ended up taking many tins home for ourselves and as gifts for a few people. The apple pie tea for my dad (he LOVES apple pie) is delicious and smells great, my mother loves a “focus” blend even though she doesn’t normally consume caffeine and originally bought it for me, since I could use extra focus most days, and a the berry tea we got is enjoyed by my siblings hot or cold. You can sample their teas, and smell each blend they make at their space. And the best part? What you are smelling is REAL. Lemon Lily only uses organic tea leaves and ingredients and there are no added flavours or colour like so many loose leaf teas add – even organic ones! They also sell great drawstring tea filters, perfect for making loose leaf tea for on the go! I love to take a turmeric tea in an insulated mug to school in the winter!

If you ever find yourself in Yorkville on a cold day, be sure to stop by Lemon Lily for an organic hot drink that is sure to warm you up or look for their label at stores, cafes or restaurants!

Yes, Lemon Lily is a few steps downstairs! Know that and you won’t miss it when you go by on Davenport!
