Did you attend the 33rd Annual Veg Food Fest at Harbourfront this weekend? If so, I would love to know what you enjoyed, and, if not, I would urge you to try some of the products, brands, and places I have featured in the pictures below.

I got out of school early on Friday (don’t worry, I didn’t skip class), and made my way with a friend and my mother down to Harbourfront to get an early look at what was being featured and served. After walking around and saying hi to the many familiar and friendly faces, I went to Doug McNish’s booth and subsequently ate an order of his Buffalo Seitan wings, one of his tacos, and an order of Polenta Poutine (at the top of my favourite Veg Fest dishes list for the third year in a row). After numerous Sweets From The Earth desserts (ones that were exclusively available this weekend), and a Cruffin from Tori’s Bakeshop (see my review here), I was definitely full. I did try a few bites that others I was with at the event were enjoying plus a ginger Tonica Kombucha, which is always refreshing and settles a full stomach.

Aside from the crazy amount of food I ate, there were the usual group of amazing brands – most returning, but a couple of new and exciting ones, including Chocosol, Tonica Kombucha, Yoso, Bunner’s, Hibiscus Café (specifically their mung bean ice cream), Lemon Lily Tea (and their new collaboration with Vibe Kombucha), Nud Fud, Bio Raw salads, Michelle’s Rawfoodz, Organic Garage, Hungry Buddha, and Giddy Yoyo, to name a few.

I hope you enjoy my small photo gallery and the items showcased – but there’s much more to try around Toronto all year around than what I featured from the Fest! I urge you to join and support the Toronto Vegetarian Association – their work is amazing, and they promote great food all over the city.

Dessert #12? He ate so many treats from Sweets From The Earth – here is their “The Works” cake with marble cake, whipped vanilla topping brownie chunks, chocolate chip cookie chunks, marshmallows, fudge sauce, and caramel sauce with a couple of pieces of their sponge toffee on top! Over the top, but a Fest exclusive, so he had to indulge!
Talk about SUPER-SIZED! Another interesting item at Veg Fest this year – watermelon juice blended with ice in a hollowed-out watermelon! This half melon didn’t last very long in Andy’s hands! 🙂
Andy loves what Sweets From The Earth bakes, and the family that bakes it too! Look at those smiles!
The classic caesar salad from Bio Raw with Michelle’s Rawfoodz Sea Zar dressing. It is a great fast food meal, especially if you are on the go!
“Shouldn’t your dressing be as healthy as your salad?” Obviously, the answer is YES! This is the new back label on Michelle’s RawFoodz dressing!
Very excited to get Wild Blueberry Powder from Giddy Yoyo! Did you know that all of their chocolate and superfoods are organic, vegan, gluten-free and nut-free?
Eating good food is always more fun with great friends! Don’t worry about the one kid who isn’t smiling, he is really happy in real life.
Another classic and favourite snack of mine – Hungry Buddha’s coconut chips – great on salads or as a snack by themselves! They come in many flavours, but I love the sriracha ones best!
Charcoal Black Sesame ice cream made by Hibiscus Café in Kensington Market! This was for my mother, but I tried it and it was delicious!
Always great to see Bridgitte from Giddy Yoyo! Did you know that they have a new “crunchy” bar? Their normal dark chocolate bars with cacao nibs sprinkled in!
Oat & Mill vegan ice cream! Not something I can take home since it has nuts in it, but it tasted great!
Michelle’s Rawfoodz’s new packaging! Love it, but love the dressing even more!
With Oren from Bio Raw – such a nice guy who makes great salads and works with the healthiest brands around!
So great to see Jason from Lemon Lily Tea! We bought a turmeric matcha which I haven’t yet tried, but I do love turmeric drinks!
Is this enough hemp seeds, mom?
Double chocolate PEANUT BUTTER FILLED gluten-free cookie from Sweets From The Earth – this was absolutely AWESMAZING!!
The Cruffin from Tori’s Bakeshop – a croissant baked in a muffin pan – chocolate center and icing on top!!
Doug McNish’s buffalo seitan wings – he also made them in honey (but not honey!) garlic! I devoured them with his ranch dip. My mom stole the organic carrot sticks.
Chocolate caramel tart from Sweets From The Earth (I didn’t even want to wait for the picture to start eating!).
Caramel Corn from Sweets From The Earth made with organic corn (important!!)!
Chocolate cupcake with sponge toffee on top! Ilana of Sweets from the Earth makes really great sponge toffee!!
Always awesome to see Francis from Yoso! Have you tried their dairy-free yogurts and cream cheese? Nothing fake, just coconuts and/or nuts!
Michelle’s Rawfoodz’s whole line of salad dressings in their new bottles! Talk about eating a rainbow!
New chocolate pudding from Michelle’s Rawfoodz – totally soy, dairy, gluten, and nut-free!! It will soon be available in chocolate mint too!
Culcherd tree nut cheeze and butterless butter! Love that it’s made locally from organic ingredients.
A Vegfest classic – Doug McNish’s Polenta Poutine!! One of my favourite dishes of all time! For the third year in a row, this was my very favourite dish!
Enjoying Doug’s food with my friend Hannah! (You may notice that I’m holding two plates at once!)
