Although I frequent the restaurants that I love best, I don’t tend to review them unless there is something new and exciting to report. I am pleased to write about Libretto’s new and game-changing dairy-free cheese (which launches on Monday, October 30th at all locations) and their gluten-free crust (which is available at all locations, but only King Street has a dedicated oven, making it safe for those with Celiac disease). I promise you, as someone who can eat gluten and dairy, both the crust and cheese taste great – not “great for vegan cheese” or “great for gluten-free crust”, actually great.
Libretto remains a leader in Toronto’s food scene, and it is the only real food pizzeria that has a dairy-free AND nut-free vegan cheese made from ingredients you would recognize and be happy to eat – the “cheese” is even better than at some vegan restaurants! Although each location has a similar vibe, they each have their own unique style. I can’t omit another ode to their service – Libretto continuously offers some of the warmest and most positive service, something that spreads good feelings to you and makes the food and experience even better!
You can read my reviews on Libretto here: Ossington from 2009 (one of my first reviews!), Danforth from 2011 (see my extension review of their brunch on the patio from 2012 here), University from 2014, and King from 2015. The pictures even made me laugh – I was pretty small when I started reviewing!
