Michelle’s Rawfoodz: New Sauces!

I’ve been a big fan of Michelle’s Rawfoodz since Michelle herself had me try samples of her very first salad dressing. Michelle was one of my biggest champions, even though I was just a little kid interested in food which is a testament to how much she cared and believed in everyone. She always let me to try new products, even while they were only being developed and she always made me feel so good to be of value in that way, even though I’m sure there were more important people to try the products. My mom always has said that food made (or grown) by really good people always tastes better, and Michelle certainly proved that theory to be true. Although she is missed so much, and will always be, the Toronto-based company she started with an unwavering commitment to using all organic, vegan, and raw ingredients has launched two new sauces that she developed! I am sad that she wasn’t the one to bring me the first jars herself, and that I can’t tell her how great they are (and look!), but I’m thrilled to have found Michelle’s BBQ and Coconut Curry sauces at The Big Carrot last weekend – even before they were listed on their website!

Although the BBQ sauce is a bit on the sweet side for my personal taste, which I attribute to the coconut sugar – it is still really delicious, the ingredients are super healthy and it is so versatile! We marinated cauliflower and roasted it and it was great! Next up is to use it as a pizza sauce!

The Coconut Curry sauce is a vibrant colour with a great flavour. I really enjoyed sprouted organic tofu slices glazed and baked with lots of the sauce – the curry flavour and the creaminess of the sauce made for a really delicious combination! I even added extra sauce on top after baking for even more colour and flavour.

I look forward to trying these sauces in and on top of many different dishes in the future – go try them and let me know what your favourite way to use them, and grab some of Michelle’s dressings while you are at it. When you are enjoying anything with a Michelle’s RawFoodz label on it, know that you are supporting your health and Michelle’s mission, which was to support us all!
