Sorry for the delay on this post – I started university in September and have been super busy with work 🙂
This year marked my tenth consecutive year attending the CHFA show in Toronto. Each year, the show features a large selection of products, and is my chance to discover new brands and see familiar ones. This year’s show was a little bit different than past years, however, due to the fact that I attended the Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim last March. This meant that most of the “new” products at the CHFA show were American brands moving to Canada for the first time, so I had seen them before. Fortunately for Canada, there are a few really amazing products debuting in Canada over the next few months, and in this post I will highlight the new products, and of course, provide a photo gallery of the rest of the amazing brands the show had to offer. Happy product hunting!
Top 4 New Products: (in no particular order)
SugaVida – There is so much to say about this product and brand. SugaVida itself is Palmyra Tree Blossom sugar, which is rich in vitamin B12, diabetic-friendly, and gluten-free. Their other product is a turmeric latte made with SugaVida. This latte comes in three amazing flavours; original, cardamom, and (my favourite) spicy ginger. These lattes have an unbelievable taste and a ton of health benefits. Now, I am going to do my best to convey to you the benefits in writing, but it will be nowhere near as effective as the sales pitch from Max, part of the British husband and wife team that runs SugaVida – by the time I was done hearing his pitch, I was ready to buy cases of the product, AND the pitch was so engaging that I could watch it for HOURS! Some of the benefits include a full uninterrupted eight hours of sleep if taken before bed, normalization of blood sugar levels for up to nine hours resulting in lack of hunger, and even hair growth. I encourage you to check out SugaVida’s website, which features testimonials from parents, athletes, and more and goes into greater detail on the health benefits! Now available in Canada!
NadaMoo – One of my absolute favourite finds from Expo West in March, NadaMoo is an organic coconut-based ice cream based out of Austin, Texas. Their line features a wide range of flavours, but they are launching in Canada with only six – though I think they picked a REALLY good selection (this includes the Caramel Cold-Brew and Cookies flavour, which is some of the greatest ice cream I have ever had!!). NadaMoo’s staff are so amazingly kind, and it makes the product taste even better knowing it was made with care and love! If you ever happen to be in Austin, they just opened a scoop shop that looks absolutely AMAZING, so be sure to check it out! Will be available in Longo’s this fall, with other stores following soon after.
Health-Ade Kombucha – One of my favourite brands of kombucha from the US, Health-Ade’s line features crazy creative flavours like Reishi Chocolate, along with the classic kombucha flavours like cayenne and ginger. They are launching in Canada with just four flavours – Lemon Ginger, Cayenne Cleanse, Pink Lady Apple, and Original, with plans to introduce more soon. They have raised over 1,000,000 scoby and brew 120,000 bottles daily, while still using organic ingredients. I recommend the Cayenne Cleanse! Will be available widely in Canada in the next couple of months.
Miyoko’s – Some of the most amazing vegan cheese I had ever tried, made by such amazing people (I’m beginning to see a trend in these amazing new products!). I first tried Miyoko’s years ago when it launched in the US by getting it shipped to my cousins in Michigan (see my review here), and am SO excited that they are launching a few of their flavours in Canada now! Unfortunately, my favourite flavour, the unLox Your Dreams (tastes like lox and cream cheese!), isn’t available in Canada just yet, but hopefully will soon! My favourite that will be available here is probably the Smoked Farmhouse, since I am a HUGE fan of smoky flavour and Miyoko’s does it perfectly! Will be available in Canada in the next couple of months.
Below, I have featured my photo gallery with all my favourite product finds and great people, new and old! I was focused on products to help me nourish myself well at university – and quickly and easily! Enjoy!
